CM KCR to offer prayers at Medaram on Feb 2
The tribal festival, ‘Sammakka Saaralamma Maha Jathara’ is all set to begin from January 31 in the forest of Eturunagaram. The festival will have tribals worship the tribal folk goddess, ‘Sammakka’. The jatara begins on January 31 when tribal priests bring Saralamma from Kannepalli village.
Elaborate arrangements have been made for the festival by the district administration which includes distribution of 20 lakh water sachets, free Wi-Fi service and security around 10,000 police personnel deployed at the venue.
Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao would visit Medaram and offer prayers to tribal deities Samakka Saralamma on February 2, said Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari. They will bring Samakka from Chilkalagutta, two kilometres away from Medaram next day. On February 2, both the deities would adorn the altar.
Vice-President M. Venkaiah Naidu is also likely to visit Medaram village.
