Congress, BJP Trade Charges | Over Links with Disgraced | Firm Cambridge Analytica
NEW DELHI: The Cambridge Analytica (CA), a data analytics firm is receiving close review across the world. In India, both political parties BJP and Congress are claiming huge allegations on each other for using the services of Cambridge Analytica. The main Subject of this allegations occurred debate due to data analytics firm who is accused of illegally mining private data of Facebook users for political purposes.
UK officials are also observed reports of CA(Cambridge Analytica) harvested data from the social networking site during voter research it conducted for US President Trump in 2016 elections. Union Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad says that he fully supports freedom of speech, expression and press freedom, however, warns that any detrimental action of influencing India’s electoral process will not be permitted. The Union minister wanted to know from the Congress how much data trade it had with Cambridge Analytica, in the recent Northeast elections, and the coming up assembly polls in Karnataka. Recently, the Ravi Shankar Prasad claim the Congress has links with CA and questioned them ‘how many time did Rahul Gandhi and Nix meet and what did they discuss?. On this Congress leader, Randeep Singh Surjewala gave a clarity on this issue to end the Ravishanker allegations and said they don’t have any illegal links from CA.
On the other hand, CA says it worked with an Indian party, or parties, for the Bihar Assembly election in 2010.This information is confirmed by the company itself on its own website.
