France Overpower Croatia 4-2 to win World Cup
France won the FIFA World Cup 2018 for the second time with their marvellous performance. France beat Croatia with 4-2 in Sunday’s final match of the tournament. It is the second time in history France won the title, It had previously achieved World Cup in 1998.
French opened the account with Croatia player Manjuksh Self Goal at the 18th minute and Griezmann scored a goal at the 38th minute by a Penalty, Paul Pogha scored a goal at the 59th minute and Kylian Mbappe scored a goal at 65th minute.
And from Croatia side, Perisic (28th) and Manjuksh (69th) have scored goals. France coach Didier Deschamps, captain of 1998 side was credited as the third player to win the World Cup as player and coach after Brazil’s Mario Zagallo and Germany’s Franz Beckenbauer.
France led 2-1 at halftime after a Mario Mandzukic own goal and an Antoine Griezmann VAR penalty, with Ivan Perisic briefly bringing first-time finalists Croatia level. Quickfire strikes by Paul Pogba and Kylian Mbappe midway through the second half put France on course for the title but Mandzukic was gifted a goal by French Keeper Hugo Lloris to set up a nervous last 20 minutes.
It was the highest-scoring final since England beat West Germany 4-2 after extra-time in 1966 and the highest in normal time since Brazil beat Sweden 5-2 60 years ago.
In the end, it was destiny for France and heartbreak for Croatia, who was playing in its first final. A wild World Cup concluded with a team everyone thought could win actually doing so, while Croatia’s miracle run falls painfully short. There could only be one winner, and a deserved Champion team managed to step up with its most convincing showing of the tournament when it mattered most.
