ICC Under-19 World Cup semi-final, Australia entered into finals
A powerful Jack Edwards half-century has helped Australia make light work of a tricky run-chase against Afghanistan to storm into the Under 19 World Cup Final.
The first team that entered in to Under-19 World Cup final was Australia. In the first semifinal on Monday, between Australia and Afghanistan. Australia won against Afghanistan and finalized the finals berth.
Afghanistan won the toss and chose to bat first. Afghanistan batsmen failed to face Jonathan Merlo bounce. Irakli Ali (80, 119 balls) the only batsman scored above half century, none of the players in Afghanistan played to desired level. Seven players have not even scored double digit score. With this the team was dismissed for 181 in 48 overs. Australia stared chasing 182 runs target in the second innings easily scored the target. Opener Edwards (72, 65 balls) made it easy to beat the target. The final berth was confirmed with in 37.3 over with a loss of four wickets.
The second semi-final will be held between India and Pakistan on Tuesday. Australia will fight against the team in the final on February 3 with the winner of the second semi final match between India and Australia..
