JEE Main and NEET twice a year, full report and latest updates on National Testing Agency
Government of India has announced that national level medical entrance exam – and JEE – national level engineering entrance exam will be conducted twice in year. Union Minister of State for Human Resource Development (HRD) Upendra Kushwaha informed Lok Sabha today that With the introduction of NTA, NEET – the national level medical entrance exam – and JEE – national level engineering entrance exam – might be conducted twice a year to give an opportunity to the students to bring out their best performance.
Mr Kushwaha said in response to a written question in the Lower House of Parliament, An autonomous and slef-sustained premier National Testing Agency (NTA), will be setup for conduct the entrance exams for the higher educational institutions. An official statement said the NTA will be created as a Society registered under the Indian Societies Registration Act, 1860, and as an autonomous and self-sustained premier testing organization to conduct entrance examinations for higher educational institutions.
With this NTA about 40 lakh students appearing in various entrance examinations will be benefited. So from now National Testing Agency (NTA), will conduct entrance tests which are at present being conducted by the CBSE.
The NTA will be chaired by an eminent educationist appointed by Human Resources Development Ministry. There will Board of Governors comprising members from user institutions, the CEO will be the Director General, who will be appointed by the government.
