Karnataka Election Dates Announced by Election Commission
New Delhi: The Election Commission (EC) today announced the Karnataka Assembly election schedule. In Karnataka, 224 seats will be held on May 12th. Counting of votes will be held on May 15. Chief Election Officer Omprakash Rawat said that 4.96 crore voters going to utilize their voting rights. 2.51 crore male voters and 2.44 crore women in total voters. More than 60 lakh new voters registered in the last assembly polls.
He said 56,696 polling stations across the state would be 9 percent higher than the previous elections. All VVMs will be provided with VVPAT machines that will be used for voters. Rawat said the current assembly election last nomination up to 27th April, the date of the election on 12th May, Results on 15th May.
The Congress and the BJP are the most prestigious of the Karnataka Assembly elections. Yeddyurappa is heading the BJP to take over the reins of Karnataka in the South, while Siddaramaiah is heading to the ruling Congress supremacy. Congress chief Rahul Gandhi has taken the Karnataka Assembly polls as their personal preferences. The Siddaramaiah government is once again coming to power, while the BJP has expressed its willingness to win.
For the first time in the country, special women’s polling stations will be set up in Karnataka. A total of 224 polling stations across the state are conducted by women. According to the Election Commission, 224 assembly constituencies in the state will be set up separately for each woman in each constituency. Women’s police and polling staff are the only women in safety for these centers. In the neighborhood, no one is allowed except for women. The Election Commission has announced that it has been the first time the women have been discriminated against, as well as the voting percentage.
