Mahendra Singh Dhoni may miss out on top BCCI contract
Indian Cricket team former captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni may miss BCCI’s ‘A’ grade top contract. Many have already expressed their criticized over BCCI for giving ‘A’ grade top contract to M.S. Dhoni, as he gave retirement to International test cricket long ago. The BCCI Administration Committee has informed that they will remove Dhoni name name from the top contract.
The Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) has already given its nod to increase in the salary of Indian cricketers after captain Virat Kohli and coach Ravi Shastri led the proposal.
The CoA has made a final report with some changes in draft. It will soon be delivered to the BCCI Finance Committee. Now, according to media reports, the CoA has worked out a procedure that will see players being graded into four categories: A+, A, B, and C. This will ensure the pay-hike players had asked for. According to this new report Dhoni is going to loose his top contract. Because according to the report players who play in all the three formats i.e., T20, ODI and Test match will be in A+ category. With this M.S. Dhoni who gave retirement to test cricket should lose his top contract.
In the past, the player in the top contract have received a worth of Rs 2 crore per annum. Now it increased to Rs. 5 crores for annum. Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, who are playing only Test cricket, are in the top-5 in the ICC rankings. So for that they will be under A+ category. You have to wait for a few days to know who will be in top contract.
