The UAE announces free 48-hour transit visa for Dubai, Abu Dhabi
According to the reports, UAE Cabinet has decided that transit passengers will be able to avail free visa for 48 hours. When Indian passengers travelling to other countries across Dubai, they have to wait in Dubai. Today, many international flights from India pass through Dubai. Flights stop in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as part of the route. About 25 per cent people from India fly to and from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and other cities via some UAE-based airlines such as Emirates, Jet-Etihad and flyDubai.
Dubai is widely known for international shopping and many are expected to shop there. However, with the visa rules, passengers remain at the airport itself. Now with this new rule Indians can stay in Dubai for two days for free. If people willing to spend more time in the country can extend the visa by up to 96 hours by paying just 50 Dirhams (approx. INR 930).
The Indian community has expressed their happiness over the Cabinet decision to give Indian passengers freely transitways. Emirate’s government sources said there was no need to pay if the passengers were in Dubai or Abu Dhabi for 48 hours.
If you want to stay for four days, you will have to pay only nominal fees. Indian tourists come to Dubai more. This new rule will help them greatly.
According to the latest developments, more and more Gulf countries are implementing smart strategies to attract Indian tourists. The UAE also gives visa on arrival to Indian passport holders having a valid US visa. Likewise, Oman will also give visa on arrival to Indian travellers who live in or possess an entry visa to the USA, Canada, UK, Australia, Japan and Schengen area countries.
