Virat Kohli’s Double Centuries Shatters Several Records…INDIA 610/6
In the second test innings between India and Sri Lanka, Team India’s batsman gave a very tough competition to Sri Lanka. India players had a huge lead with their excellent batting skills in the first innings. Captain Virat Kohli made a perfect balance of aggression and patience, scored his 5th Double Century and took Indian team to a massive lead of 405 runs. He once again played incredible innings and scored 213runs with his 5th double century in his test career.
The Indian captain Virat Kohli has finished Day 2 innings with a half-century and started Day 3 innings with a similar style batting by dismissing the boundaries and maintained a decent run rate level. Pujara scored 143 runs in the 1st innings and missed his 7th 150+ score by a narrow margin. Murali Vijay scored 128 runs in the first innings and Rohit Sharma finished the century. Rohit Sharma who is making a comeback after a long time has made his place strong by scoring another century. However, it was Kohli’s double century in 259 balls which made the headlines.
This is his 5th Double century and only Sachin, Sehwag and Dravid are ahead of him with 6 centuries. He also stays in Top place along with Brian Lara as a captain scoring 5 Double centuries. India’s innings declined after 6 wickets for 610 runs. Sri Lanka started the second innings with a wicket of 21 runs. India currently has 384 runs ahead. The three-day match ended. Sri Lanka will have to give a fixed target for the next two days.
